RESPONSE TO GOVERNOR LEE’S STATEMENT

Fourth Avenue staff and shepherds have read the Governor’s statement on faith communities and when/how they should begin gathering in the next two months. We are also in daily contact with churches all over Williamson County (Davidson County has its own health department and rules and is not subject to the TN Health Department rules). As we pray for wisdom, pray for us, that we might make decisions that truly reflect the grace, wisdom, and love of the Holy Spirit. Your health – spiritual and physical – is important to us. A couple of passages come to mind and we suggest that you read them as you pray.

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness, for bodily discipline is only of little profit but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise of the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Tim 4:7-8

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others… For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.” 1 Cor. 10:23-33
